Salmon Fishing in Norway

Ahrex Salmon Trip to the Gaula
– From Vise to Water

Ahrex Hooks was founded on a love for the outdoors — the quiet moments at the river, the craft of fly tying, the anticipation before a take, and the fishing itself. That passion is the foundation for these trips. They’re our way of giving something back to those of you who want to be part of the Ahrex universe. We’ve always stood for quality, and you can expect the same from this experience. We work with some of the best in the industry to make sure everyone starts with the best possible conditions for a great week on the water.

Join us for a week of salmon fishing on the legendary Gaula River. This trip is part of our From Vise to Water concept — connecting fly tyers and anglers with the rivers that inspire our craft.

Week 33, 2026 — August 9–16

The trip runs Sunday 9 August 2026 to Sunday 16 August 2026, with arrival and check-in between 15:00–16:00, and departure on Sunday at 12:00.

For EUR 1,895 you get exclusive access to NFC’s premium Gaula beats, comfortable accommodation in shared double rooms, and daily meals designed for long days on the river (excluding drinks). You’ll stay with the Ahrex team in a private villa close to the water and receive an intro briefing, daily updates from NFC’s experienced guides, and on-site support from your Ahrex host throughout the week.

You’ll be fishing the legendary waters of the Norwegian Flyfishers Club (NFC), managed through a structured rotation system that takes you across many of the river’s best stretches. Every six hours you move to a new beat, fishing two-and-two. For those six hours, the water is yours — giving you the space, rhythm, and opportunity to fish each stretch properly and plan your own approach.

A full week on world-class salmon water, guided insight, great company, and everything essential included — exceptional value for an unforgettable Gaula experience.

Before departure, we meet online for a gear-intro session and a relaxed fly-tying evening. That way, when we finally stand by the Gaula together, everyone already feels connected, prepared and part of the same crew.

What makes this trip different:

• Meals, lodging and fishing included — nothing to manage, just fish and enjoy
• Rotational fishing on top Gaula beats — new water every six hours, two anglers per beat
• Pre-trip online fly tying session
• Online gear and setup meeting before departure
• Daily updates from NFC guides: where the fish are holding and how the river is fishing
• Access to prime NFC beats on the Gaula
• Ahrex host on-site throughout the week
• A welcoming atmosphere among fellow fly anglers
• Ahrex goodie bag with hooks, Pro Sportfisher tube materials, a coffee mug for campfire breaks — plus a few surprises to make the trip unforgettable

If you want a salmon trip created by fly anglers for fly anglers — focused on community, preparation and quality fishing — this is it.
