A classic Scandinavian style shrimp, tied by Danish Morten Jensen… after inspiration from Swedish fly tier Agne Sjöberg… and named after him. Tied sparse this fly has great transparency and will hover in the water on a really slow retrieve with long pauses. Super efficient for cold water fishing
Tying SBS and underwater action on the Maroon’n’black Wool Leech. The yarn or wool leech is a simple, but effective imitation on leeches in freshwater and ragworms in saltwater. This is my take on the classic pattern. The glass bead seems to work great on these flies, if you want more of a gliding than … Continue reading "Maroon’n’black Wool Leech – trout streamer fly tying – tied by Michael Jensen"
Flatwing style sand ell imitation, tied for seatrout fishing along the Scandinavian coastlines. The originator is Daniel’s friend Janus… hence the name.
You want it hot? Well this Booby should fill the bill. It is a killer for seatrout (sea run brown) on the Scandinavian coast, from late fall to spring. Worked slowly on a sinking or intermediate line, this Booby will find the silvery trout. Works well in early river fishing as well. And nearly forgot… … Continue reading "Hot Pink Booby – saltwater and stillwater fly tying – tied by Michael jensen"
Henrik tied this sculpin imitation targeting sea trout along the Danish coastline. Works fine all year round. He ties the fly to his leader with a loop knot, for increased movability.
Morten Hansen aka Coastfly ties his Simple Dubbing Shrimp. Morten uses this fly for sea trout in saltwater in the southern part of Denmark. Can be tied in a variety of colours – just by changing the dubbing blend.
Daniel D. Holm ties a spiced up version of Flammen – a super effective fly for sea trout in the salt. Works especially great during the winter season.
Small baitfish/sculpin pattern tied for saltwater fishing for seatrout (sea run Brown). This fly is tied on an Ahrex NS122 Light Stinger using a pine squirrel fur strip for the zonker wing.
Simple and super effective baitfish imitation for finicky sea trout. Tied on an Ahrex NS122 Light Stinger.
Morten Hansen alias coastfly ties his own pattern, the Glass Squid. The body is hollow, which gives a lightweight fly with a nice translucency.
My take on a large articulated streamer fly. It’s a Zonker style tie using muskrat fur strips for the wing, and Woolly Sparkle Dub for the head/shoulder build up. Has proven super effective for most predators – especially for brown trout and sea run brown.
Morten Hansens awesome Glass Shrimp. It’s so lifelike that you will expect it to just stand up on its skinny transparent legs, crawl away and do shrimpy stuff any minute. It is a bit tricky to tie, and you are gonna need a lot patience and UV-glue. But following Morten’s instructions – you should be … Continue reading "AHREX – Glass Shrimp – Tied by Morten Hansen"
