Our friends at Hökensås Sportsfiske have been organising their popular Trout Safari events for a long time, and they usually sell out very quickly. In the last weekend of October, we have partnered with Hökensås til to put on a Trout Safari together.
In the last weekend of Octber, Friday 29th – Sunday31st, there will be fishing, fly tying, good food, fly casting demonstrations, a chance to try some of the new rods from Scott (Centric and Sector series) and of course the Ahrex Hooks, including a few news.
You will get the chance to fish several of the lakes at Hökensås, guided by local flyt fishers who know the lakes very well. And this just as the fall fishing for rainbows is at its best.
With arrival Friday afternoon and evening, you’ll get the chance to tie flies with Marcus Thorvald-Hermansson (Hökensås Sportsfiske) and Håkan Karsnäser (Ahrex) already the same evening. Saturday of course begins with lunch and then it’s off to the lakes. This is also where you have the opportunity to try the new Scott rods, if you’re interested. In the afternoon we head back to the cabins and in the early evening we will visit Hjoåen (Hjo river). Here we’ll look for spawning trout in the dark, trout migrating upstream to spawn from the huge Lake Vättern. With a flash light you might just spot one of the big ones.
Sunday begins with lunch and cleaning of the cabins. Then we go fishing again and after a water side lunch, the event is officially over.
Should you be interested, contact Håkan at håkan.karsnäser@outlook.com. The price for the entire weekend, including cabins, meal, instruction and fly tying materials is 2.500SEK.
And should you have any questions about the hooks, the entire team from Ahrex will be there, so hopefully we’ll be able to help you. Morten, Søren, Martin, Håkan and myself are going. It’ll be a great weekend, so we hope to see some of you there.
