4 Weeks of Daylight is the title of a film by our friends at Fly Fishing Nation. A film documenting a unique experience. The kind of experience any adventurous fly fisher could only dream of. We had the privilige of beeing a part of sponsoring the project.

I’m not terribly comfortable writing a blog about myself, but I’m under strict orders from HQ to do so, so bear with me. It of course began when I was a kid, fishing brown trout in the local stream and flat fish, weevils and the odd cod from the local harbour. My mother has a knitting club, and a husband to one of the other “girls” was an eager fly fisher, and he introduced me – and then everything went wrong.

The next in the small series of presentation of the core personnel at Ahrex, is Steve Silverio. Steve is a well known fly fisher and fly tier in the United States and may might also have met him at some of the larger fly fairs on the European continent.
Most of the readers of this blog will know who Håkan is and know his flies. Håkan is a key part of the part of the Ahrex “extended family”. Håkan lives in Sweden, in Mullsjö, with his wife and children. Håkan is a schoolteacher at the local school.

It’s summer and we all sincerely hope that the COVID-pandemic is loosening its grip where ever you are, so many of you again are out fishing, enjoying the season. The Danish-American connection. Poul Jorgensen is a Danishman, who spent most of his life in the United States, where he earned quite a reputation as an excellent fly tyer. Being Danish he of course kept a connection to Denmark and he was, among many others of course friends with the Mad Veterinarian, Preben Torp (a well known character in Denmark).
Unlike in Denmark, where you can fish the coastline all year round , sea trout along the Swedish west coast are protected until April 1st.
