It’s show time!

Two weekends ago we attended the British Fly Fair International, which was, as always, an excellent and very well organised event.

Fishing for migratory fish – anadromous species – such as salmon, sea trout, steelhead or rainbows and trout both from the sea and the great lakes on their way to the spawning banks has been the purpose of this new hook that we have been looking forward to introducing to you.

We often think that now we must have a full range of fly hooks – but again and again we have to accept that there is always room for one more model. This time our range of Freshwater series is expanding with a new nymph nook.

International Fly Tying Symposium 2022

IFTS is an abbreviation for the International Fly Tying Symposium – an annual show that has been running for 31 years. The show is an institution on the international fly-show-scene and one that has attracted some of the biggest names in the fly tying world. We, Ahrex, are going this year for the first time and we’re excited and proud. Please come and say hello, we’re hanging out at the Regal & Keough stand.

Expanding the family

It’s predator season already and it’s only getting better and better as it gets colder (until a certain point, of course). We have a new series of hooks to release to day as well as an expansion on another, both predator-hooks.

Introducing The Patagon Bos Taurus

The name alone implies it – Patagon Bos Taurus, it sounds almost intimidating and the fish this hook is intended for are intimidating as much as they are beautiful. Big, strong South American rainbow trout in fast flowing water. Rainbows that like big flies and require a big, strong hook.

Hot coffee, cold water and stickers

What else do you need, really? Well, we all like a little more gear than that for our fishing trips, but a cup of hot coffee and a bottle of cold water on a hot day is nice. And the rod tubes need stickers, right? Otherwise you’re not really on the beat (just so you know).

Down – and up!

Sometimes everything is turned upside down – and it seems to be a tendency that is also permeating this blog lately. In March we introduced the SA 210 Bob Clouser Signature hook, and while it, in every way, is a “normal” hook, the fly it was designed around is an upside-down-fly. I’ve touched on the subjects “up-side-down” and “weedless” before, and here we go again.

Introducing…

The Salt SA 210 Bob Clouser Signature hook. We are quite excited to present the newest hook in the Salt Series. It’s been developed in collaboration with the legendary Bob Clouser himself and is specified to his specifications and proportions – just as he wants a Clouser hook to be.

Busy Times

The last few months have been busy here at Ahrex. Spring and fall have always been our seasons for releasing new hooks. A few weeks ago we released the FW 538/539 May Fly Dry and we’ve of course been busy packaging and shipping them out and we’re pleased and thankful that they’ve been well received.
