Changes

Hökensås-15

It’s a season of change. It’s September 6th, and officially autumn in the northern hemisphere, and as if nature almost knew the exact date, September 1st really brought with it a noticeable change in weather and temperature. It’s been rainy and windy and definitely very autumn-like, especially in comparison to the lovely warm days late August had to offer. Continue reading “Changes”

Fly fishing for ide – a cool alternative for warm days

Forgotten River - Rimte - 31-07-09

Once upon a time, fly fishing was primarily a technique for catching trout and grayling. But today an increasing number of species are targeted with the fly rod. Anything from dace to sailfish is caught on a regular basis by anglers seeking new experiences. And since there are around 34.000 recognized species of fish on the planet, there’s no lack of targets. Winter and spring fly boxes – how to avoid cabin fever

DSC_3243

We are at midwinter here on the Northern Hemisphere right now – and trout season is opening in a week in some of the Danish rivers. Saltwater fishing for sea run browns is on all year round – and there’s also some cool predator fishing waiting out there if you don’t mind the cold and dark weather. So things aren’t really tough around here. No need to complain. Continue reading “Winter and spring fly boxes – how to avoid cabin fever”
