Yes, we’re not done releasing new hooks this fall, and today we’re releasing a really exciting project.

New release – SA 274
A part of our very first hook releases was the NS 172 Gammarus, which very quickly became very popular for a variety of reasons – and for a good number of different types of flies. But we also very early on began getting requests for not only bigger versions for various predator flies, but also stronger versions for stronger fish. And of course the inevitable requests for a saltwater version.

Yes, it’s that time of year. We know all you salmon flyfishers are waiting for the next season and some of you are probably already going through the boxes, checking the flies, deciding on new patterns, which to keep and which need to be replenished. At least I know a few of us here are Ahrex are – OK, one at least. Me.
XO – Series release
Today marks the official release of a brand new series of hooks that we have chosen to call XO. XO has plenty of meanings in today’s world. Our younger readers will relate it to “hugs and kisses” in text messages while our slightly, how should I put it, more seasoned customers might tend to connect it with cognac, where it signifies that a cognac has been aged for at least six years in oak barrels. We – however – use the term differently, as an abbreviation for Cross Over.
The Story of Ahrex

It’s show time!
Last weekend we attended there British Fly Fair international, which was, as always, an excellent and very well organised event.
British Fly Fair International 2020
Believe it or not, this weekend’s it’s time for the British Fly Fair International again, and we will of course be present.
We are bringing all of our hook models, so if you’re curious about a particular model, here’s an opportunity to see it. Maybe you haven’t seen the Salt-series we released in September 2019? If you fish the salt, either here in Europe or visit tropical destinations, you must come by and see these hooks.
Streamers, bucktails and Mickey Finn – part II
I don’t know how many hooks on the market can be classified as “streamer hooks”, and we often get asked why we have one in our line up when there are so many on the market. And that is of course a valid question, and the only answer is that we had to. We had to have a classic streamer hook – we couldn’t be a serious hook brand of we hadn’t.

Merry Christmas to all
From all of us at Ahrex, we wish everyone of you a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Are old news still news?
At least we can say with certainty that they’re not fake news, but we do have some hooks that have been added to our current line-up, and they’ve slipped under the radar, so we thought it best to point them out here on the blog.
